SBL Round 4 (Regular Season): Bank of Taiwan edge Keelung BK by two points

The most exciting game of round 4 in the SBL ended with only two-point defeat of their biggest opponent Keelung BK (5-5) to first ranked Bank of Taiwan (7-3) 61-59 on Saturday evening. American power forward James Padgett (203-1991, college: Maryland) fired a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Guard Chia-Wei Chien (183-1998) chipped in 14 points. Bank of Taiwan's coach En-Chieh Cheng used entire bench in such tough game. American center Wendell Lewis (204-1989, college: Alabama St.) produced a double-double by scoring 26 points and 15 rebounds for lost side. Bank of Taiwan have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-3 record. Keelung BK at the other side dropped to the third place with five games lost. They share the position with Yulon Luxgen. Bank of Taiwan's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Taipei Taiwan Beer.
Important game to mention about was the one when third ranked Yulon Luxgen (5-5) saved a 1-point victory edging 5th ranked Changhua (2-7) 65-64 on Saturday evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American Brandon Moss (204-1994, college: LSUA) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 20 rebounds and 8 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!). Shao-Fu Lan contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Kwame Alexander (201-1990, college: CSUSB, agency: BIG) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 21 rebounds for Changhua. Changhua's coach Chun-Hsiung Wu tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Yulon Luxgen have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 5-5 record having just two points less than leader Bank of Taiwan, which they share with Keelung BK. Changhua at the other side stay at the bottom place with seven games lost. Yulon Luxgen will play against Keelung BK (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Changhua will play against Keelung BK and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very important is a loss of second ranked Keelung BK (5-5) against fourth ranked Taiwan Beer (5-4) on Sunday night. Keelung BK was crushed by Taiwan Beer 97-64. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Worth to mention a great performance of Gerard Tarin who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds. At the losing side Kuang-Chien Chiang responded with 17 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Taiwan Beer moved-up to second place. Loser Keelung BK dropped to the third position with five games lost. They share it with Yulon Luxgen. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Wendell Lewis (204-1989, college: Alabama St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 29 points and 17 rebounds (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field) and the former international guard Kai-Hsiang Hu (190-1991) who added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Five Keelung BK players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Gerard Tarin (205-1996, college: Nova SE) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds and Vincentian forward Brendon Smart (198-1995) scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Despite that victory Keelung BK went down to third position due to points difference, which they share with Yulon Luxgen. Loser Taiwan Beer dropped to the second place with four games lost. Keelung BK will meet bottom-ranked Changhua (#5) in the next round. Worth to mention a great performance of American Brandon Moss (204-1994, college: LSUA) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 29 rebounds and guard Yi-Kang Tung Fang (182-1997) who added 18 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American power forward Kwame Alexander (201-1990, college: CSUSB, agency: BIG) responded with 12 points and 9 rebounds and the former international guard Cheng-Yen Liu (173-2001) scored 13 points.
