The defending champion of the SBL, Al Wahda Damascus, has signed 46-year-old Lebanese coach Marwan Khalil for the upcoming season 2023-2024

Khalil most recently coached at Beirut Club in the Lebanese league.
He coached the Lebanese Senior National Team from 2011 to 2019.
He has also coached professionally in Bahrain (Al-Manama), Iraq (Al-Hashd), and Lebanon (Champville, Moutahed, and Louaize). His team reached the League Semifinals in 2023.
