Russian Mikhail Terekhov takes over Syrian National Team

The Syrian Basketball Federation has agreed terms with the dual-citizenship Russian/Georgian 34 years old coach Mikhail Terekhov to be the head coach of Syrian National Team in the 3rd Fiba Asia Qualifying games window which will be held in Jordan between 12 and 14 June. Syrian NT is going to play against Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
Coach Mikhail will replace the American coach Joe Salerno whose apologizing for continuing with the national team and the reasons of his decision still unclear.
The 34 years old coach was the head coach of BK Burevestnik Yaroslav since 2017, he successed to promote the team from Superleague 2 to Superleague 1 after winning the Superleague 2 League Champion title in 2018.
The Syrian coach Azzam Alhusain and the Russian coach Aleksey Nuzhdin will be his assistants in the National Team.
