Division I Round 22: Al Wahda is defeated by Al Jaish in a derby game

Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Damascus: Al Jaish (#1) and Al Wahda (#4). Al Jaish (18-2) won against visiting Al Wahda (12-7) 76-69. Al Jaish have an impressive 14-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 18-2 record, which they share with Al Karameh. Al Wahda at the other side keeps the fourth place with seven games lost.
The game in Hama was also worth to mention about. One of their biggest challengers Al Jalaa (12-8) played at the court of sixth ranked Al Talee'a (10-9). Al Talee'a managed to secure a 4-point victory 78-74. Al Talee'a maintains sixth position with 10-9 record. Al Jalaa at the other side dropped to the fifth place with eight games lost.
Third ranked Al Ittihad (17-3) crushed at home 12th ranked Al Ouroube (1-19) by 43 points 138-95, which is the biggest margin this round on Monday night. Al Ittihad have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 17-3 record behind leader Al Jaish. Al Ouroube lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 19 lost games.

In the last two games of round 22 Al Wathba won against Al Thawra on the opponent's court 73-66. Al Nawaeer managed to outperform Al Hurriyeh in a home game 68-64.



Al Ittihad - Al Ouroube 138-95

Third ranked Al Ittihad (17-3) crushed at home 12th ranked Al Ouroube (1-19) by 43 points 138-95, which is the biggest margin this round on Monday night. Al Ittihad have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 17-3 record behind leader Al Jaish. Al Ouroube lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 19 lost games.

Al Thawra - Al Wathba 66-73

Everything could happen in Damascus at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Al Wathba and 8th ranked Al Thawra had identical 7-12 record. But Al Thawra was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Homs 73-66 on Tuesday night. Al Wathba (8-12) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Al Nawaeer. Loser Al Thawra dropped to the ninth position with 13 games lost.

Al Nawaeer - Al Hurriyeh 68-64

Rather predictable result in Hama where seventh ranked Al Nawaeer (8-12) defeated 10th ranked Al Hurriyeh (6-13) 68-64 on Tuesday. Newly promoted Al Nawaeer maintains seventh position with 8-12 record, which they share with Al Wathba. Loser Al Hurriyeh keeps the tenth place with 13 games lost.
