Joe Salerno is the new head coach of Syrian National Team

The Syrian Basketball federation has announced to the media that they have agreed on terms with the 39years old American Coach Joe Salerno to be the new head coach of the Syrian Senior National Team in the upcoming FIBA Asia Cup Qualifying Games. The national team of Syria will face Qatar and Iran on the 27th and 30th of November in the bubble which will be held in Qatar.
It's going to be the first experience for the American coach out of the North American continent, Since 2011 he has coached two different clubs in Canada NBL League The Island Storm, and Moncton Magic, He won the NBL League title in 2019 with Moncton Magic and reached the finalist of the league in 2013 and 2014 with The Island Storm.
The other American coach Jeff Morrison will join the coaching staff of the Syrian Senior National Team as an assistant coach.
