Goyang Orions celebrated KBL title. They thumped KCC Egis in the sixth game of the championship series to capture the trophy. It marked the first KBL success for Goyang Orions since 2001/02 season. The game without a history. Goyang Orions led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to KCC Egis' 40. They outrebounded KCC Egis 38-24 including a 29-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Goyang Orions shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 68.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by KCC Egis' players. Americans were the main players on the court. Forward Aaron Haynes (201-81, college: Boise St.) had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard Joe Jackson (185-92, college: Memphis) chipped in 26 points and 10 assists (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Andre Emmett (196-82, college: Texas Tech) with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and forward Herbert Hill (208-84, college: Providence) scored 16 points. Five Goyang Orions and four KCC Egis players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Senior All-Star Team celebrated victory in the traditional KBL All-Star Game. The event was held at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul. Senior All-Star Team overcame their Junior Team opponents in the highly entertaining clash. Kim Sun-Hyung (187-G-88) stepped up with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and was trumped the MVP. Senior All-Stars gained a 55:48 halftime lead. Junior All-Stars cut the deficit in the third quarter. They pulled within a single point at the final intermission. However Senior All-Stars fired 35 points in the fourth period and sealed the victory. Emmett Andre (196-F-82, college: Texas Tech) nailed 23 points to lead the winners. Sims Courtney (211-C-83, college: Michigan, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) added 20 points and 11 rebounds for the Seniors. Ratliffe Ricardo (203-F-89, college: Missouri) responded with 36 points and 13 rebounds for the Junior All-Star Team. McKines Wendell (198-F-88, college: N.Mexico St., agency: SDJ Sports) claimed victory in the Slam Dunk Contest. Cho Sung-Min (197-F-83) captured the trophy at the Three-Point Shootout Contest.
