SBL Round 3 (Regular Season): Al Nasr beat Al Fateh in the most crucial game of the week

It's still too early stage of the Regular Season in SBL, but even now we can clearly see the difference between stronger teams and outsiders. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

An exciting game was played in Al Hasa. Al Nasr faced Al Fateh. Guests from Riyadh (3-0) smashed host Al Fateh (1-2) 88-68. It was a great shooting night for Al Nasr especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 60.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Algerian Mohamed Harat (198-1990) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds. chipped in 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian center Lazar Nekic (213-1999, college: LMU) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 17 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Al Nasr is looking forward to face Mudhar (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Al Fateh will play against Al-Ula and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
Al Ahli delivered the third consecutive victory. This time they crushed Al Khewaildia (0-3) 105-35 in Jeddah. It was a good game for who led his team to a victory with 25 points and 6 rebounds. Alfonzo McKinnie contributed with 22 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Al Ahli's coach Ali Alsanhani felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Algerian Mohamed Harat (198-1990) answered with 15 points and 7 rebounds for Al Khewaildia. Al Ahli will play against Al Khaleej (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Al Khewaildia will play against Ohod in Medina and hopes to get finally their first victory.
The game in supposed to be also quite interesting. Al-Ula (3-0) played at the court of Al Khaleej (0-3). Al-Ula smashed Al Khaleej 111-57 on Friday. It was a great evening for Wael Arakji who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Al-Ula's coach Stratos Koukoulekidis felt very confident that he used entire bench saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was Mahdi Alzawad with 12 points and 7 rebounds. Al-Ula will meet at home Al Fateh (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Al Khaleej will play against Al Ahli in Jeddah and looks forward to get finally their first victory.

In the last two games of round 3 Mudhar was crushed by Al Ittihad in Jeddah 115-47. Al Salam smashed Ohod at home 88-66.
The best stats of 3rd round was 41 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 4 assists by Alex Young of Al Salam.




Al Ittihad - Mudhar 115-47

Al Ittihad used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from 115-47 on Friday night. Al Ittihad dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Mudhar's 20. They outrebounded Mudhar 41-22 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Al Ittihad looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Mudhar's players. It was a great evening for American point guard Erick Neal (178-1995, college: UT Arlington) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. helped adding 19 points and 5 rebounds. Neal is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Al Ittihad players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Vante Hendrix (196-1998, college: CSUN, agency: BIG) with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import forward Alfonzo McKinnie (202-1992, college: Green Bay) scored 10 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Al Ittihad will meet at home Al Salam (#5) in the next round. Mudhar will play against Al Nasr in Riyadh and hope to win that game.

It was a great evening for Lebanese guard Wael Arakji (193-1994) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). helped adding 16 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). It was a great evening for American forward Alex Young (198-1989, college: IUPUI, agency: The Crew A.M.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 4 assists. helped adding 23 points and 5 rebounds. Coach Aqeel Milad's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest.
