SBL Round 11 (Regular Season): Al Nassr keep a leadership position

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Al Nassr as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Al Nassr smashed 3rd placed Al Hilal in Riyadh 112-83. Al Nassr made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 20 long-distance shots on high 54.1 percentage. The best player for the winners was American guard PJ Hardy (185-1998, college: Louisiana) who had a double-double by scoring 32 points and 12 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). His fellow American import Carlton Bragg Jr (208-1995, college: N.Mexico) chipped in 19 points and 13 rebounds. The former international center Mohammed Alsuwailem (211-1998) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 20 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Al Hilal lost third consecutive game. They keep the third place with three games lost. They share the position with Al Ahli.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Jeddah: Al Ahli (#4) and Ittihad (#2). Ittihad was crushed at home by 18 points 65-83 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Ittihad. American Hollis Thompson (203-1991, college: Georgetown) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Marzouq Almuwallad contributed with 21 points and 5 assists for the winners. American center James Edwards Jr (211-1997, college: Southern) answered with 17 points and 7 rebounds for Ittihad. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion (8-3) moved-up to third place, which they share with Al Hilal. Ittihad at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost.
A very close game took place in Safwa (derby !!!) between Al Khaleej and Al Safa. Eighth ranked Al Khaleej (4-7) got a very close victory on the road over 9th ranked Al Safa (3-8). Al Khaleej managed to escape with a 3-point win 91-88 in the fight for the eighth place. It was a great evening for Nobel Boungou-Colo who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds. Dallas Morgan responded with 29 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Al Safa's coach Vanja Gusa rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Al Khaleej maintains eighth place with 4-7 record. Al Safa lost third consecutive game. Al Safa at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the ninth position with eight games lost. They share it with Al Salam.

In the last two games of round 11 Al Fateh crushed Al Salam in Al Hasa 99-74. Al Wehda was beaten by Ohod at home 84-96.
The best stats of 11th round was 14 points and 9 rebounds by Latavious Williams of Ittihad.

Al Safa - Al Khaleej 88-91

A very close game took place in Safwa (derby !!!) between Al Khaleej and Al Safa. Eighth ranked Al Khaleej (4-7) got a very close victory on the road over 9th ranked Al Safa (3-8). Al Khaleej managed to escape with a 3-point win 91-88 in the fight for the eighth place. Al Khaleej shot 29 for 41 from the free-throw line, while Al Safa only scored twelve points from the stripe. Al Khaleej had a 33-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Congolese-French forward Nobel Boungou-Colo (202-1988) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds. The former international forward Mohammed Almutairi (193-1992) helped adding 29 points and 12 rebounds. American guard Dallas Morgan (185, college: CMU) responded with 29 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and the other American import forward Dikembe Dixson (201-1996, college: UIC) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. Four Al Safa players scored in double figures. Al Safa's coach Vanja Gusa rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Al Khaleej maintains eighth place with 4-7 record. Al Salam - Al Fateh 74-99

There was no surprise in Al-Awamiyah where 10th ranked Al Salam (3-8) was crushed by seventh ranked Al Fateh (6-5) 99-74 on Monday. Al Fateh shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Al Salam's players. It was a great evening for Mohammed Al-Saquer who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 14 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. American forward Anthony Fairley (203-1999, college: Miles) helped adding 26 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Al Fateh's coach George Geagea felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American-Bahrain Wayne Chism (206-1987, college: Tennessee) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and American center Malik Wineglass (203-1993, college: Harris-Stowe St.) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Four Al Salam players scored in double figures. Al Fateh have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain seventh place with 6-5 record. Loser Al Salam dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost. They share it with Al Safa.

Al Wehda - Ohod 84-96

There was a small surprise in Mecca where sixth ranked Ohod (7-4) defeated 4th placed Al Wehda (7-4) 96-84 on Monday. Ohod outrebounded Al Wehda 33-20 including 27 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American guard Jonathon Simmons (198-1989, college: Houston) who led his team to a victory scoring 37 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds (on 15-of-18 shooting from the field). His fellow American import center Henry Sims (208-1990, college: Georgetown) helped adding 27 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Donte McGill (190-1995, college: FIU, agency: Green Sports Management) responded with 29 points and Senegalese-Spanish power forward Mamadou Samb (210-1989) scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ohod have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with defeated Al Wehda.
