Best players of Saudi Arabian SBL round 18 (by Hoops Agents)- January 24, 2023
The 32-year old forward had a double-double of 40 points and fifteen rebounds, while his team beat Ittihad (#7, 8-9) 88-80. Al Fateh maintains the 4th position in Saudi Arabian SBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Al Fateh will need more victories to improve their 13-5 record. In the team's last game Harat had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Al Fateh's top player in his first season with the team. Harat has impressive league stats. He is league's best scorer averaging so far 29.8ppg. Harat is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 15.6rpg) and averages solid 1.2bpg and 65.1% FGP. The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American center Anthony McClain (211-C-1988) of Al Salam. McClain impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 26 points and 17 rebounds. Of course he led Al Salam to another comfortable win 90-71 over slightly lower-ranked Al Taawoun (#10, 3-15) being unquestionably team leader. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Al Salam keeps 9th position. 13 lost games are too many comparing to just five victories Al Salam managed to get this year. McClain is a newcomer at Al Salam and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. The third best performed player last round was American Kelechi Ajukwa (201-G-1995) of Al Ansar (#12). Ajukwa got into 30-points club by scoring 38 points in the last round. He went also for seven rebounds . Despite Ajukwa's great performance Al Ansar lost 82-122 to the higher-ranked Ohod (#3, 14-4). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Al Ansar can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 1-16 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Ajukwa has a very solid season. In 4 games in Saudi Arabia he scored 26.8ppg. Other top performing players last week: 4. Fahad Belal (181-PG-1991) of Ohod - 29 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists 5. Andrey Semenov (200-F-1990) of Al Adalah - 25 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists 6. Jordan Washington (203-F-1993) of Ohod - 22 points and 11 rebounds 7. Falando Jones (193-G-1990) of Al Fateh - 23 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
