SBL Round 13: Al Nassr defeat Al Wehda in the game between Top 4 teams

An interesting game for Al Nassr (10-3) which hosted in Riyadh 4th placed Al Wehda (8-5). Second ranked Al Nassr managed to get a 8-point victory 74-66. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Al Wehda. They outrebounded Al Wehda 49-35 including a 38-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Antonio Campbell (206-1994, college: Ohio) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds. Swingman Brandon Austin (198-1994, college: NW Florida St.) contributed with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Dewayne Jackson (203-1990, college: Morgan St.) answered with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for Al Wehda. Al Nassr maintains second place with 10-3 record having just one point less than leader Al Ahli, which they share with Ohod. Al Wehda at the other side dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. Al Nassr is looking forward to face Al Taawoun (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Al Wehda will play against Ohod (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
SBL top team - Al Ahli (12-0) added another victory to their record. This time they beat sixth ranked Al Hilal (8-6) in Jeddah 76-72. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Al Hilal. The former international point guard Marzouq Almuwallad (180-1992) stepped up and scored 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and Deandre Liggins chipped in 13 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Al Ahli's coach Ali Alsanhani allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side international center Mohammed Alsuwailem (211-1998) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. Undefeated Al Ahli have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. They maintain first place with 12-0 record. Defending champion Al Hilal keeps the sixth position with six games lost. Al Ahli will play against Al Fateh (#4) in Al Hasa in the next round. Al Hilal will play at home against Al Salam and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game between 12th ranked Al Ansar (1-12) and ninth ranked Al Salam (4-9) in Medina on Friday ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Al-Awamiyah outscored Al Ansar 115-92. Anthony McClain nailed a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds (on 17-of-20 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Jawan Davis came up with 35 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 5 assists for Al Ansar in the defeat. Al Salam maintains ninth place with 4-9 record. Al Ansar lost their twelfth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Al Salam will meet higher ranked Al Hilal (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Al Ansar will play against Deba (#8) in Tabuk and hope to win that game.

Other games in round 13 were not that significant. Al Fateh beat Al Adalah on the road 97-79. Deba won against Al Taawoun on its own court 75-71. Ittihad was outscored by Ohod in Medina 92-72.
The most impressive performance of 13th round was 24 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists by Omar Abada of Ittihad.

Al Ahli - Al Hilal 76-72

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Al Fateh (9-4) beat on the road 10th ranked Al Adalah (3-10) 97-79 on Friday. They outrebounded Al Adalah 50-27 including a 38-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Al Fateh looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Algerian forward Mohamed Harat (198-1990) nailed a double-double by scoring 32 points, 19 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side and Mohammed Alsaqer accounted for 7 points, 9 rebounds and 11 assists. Al Fateh's coach Amer Al Soubai used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Russian forward Andrey Semenov (200-1990, college: JMU) came up with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and Khalid Al Saqer added 17 points and 5 assists respectively for Al Adalah in the defeat. Four Al Adalah players scored in double figures. Al Fateh maintains fourth place with 9-4 record. Al Adalah lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with ten games lost. Al Fateh will meet at home league's leader Al Ahli in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
