Al Hilal Riyadh (SBL) tabbed 30-year old American power forward Rickey Young (205-100kg-90, college: WVU Tech). He played most recently at Al Nasr. But in 12 SBL games in Saudi Arabia he averaged just 0.0ppg last season. Young helped them to win the regular season and make it to the semifinals. He also played for Al-Riffa (Premier League) in Bahrain where in 12 games he had only 0.0ppg. Young contributed in the Supercup final.
He is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball Young experienced life in eight different countries playing on four different continents. He is familiar with European, Asian, Latin American and of course North American leagues. Young has played previously professionally in Finland (HoNsU Basket), Germany (46ers), Iraq (Al Karkh and Al Naft), Kosovo (Bashkimi), Montenegro, Qatar (Al Khor), Bolivia (La Salle Olympic CBBA Cochabamba and La Salle Tarija) and United Arab Emirates (Banijas).
He attended West Virginia University Institute of Technology until 2011 and it will be his tenth season in pro basketball.
Let's have closer look into Young's outlook: Ricky Young is the only player from USA, that is born 1990, and have 2 years experience in European league, outstanding jumping abilities, and athleticism, very fast, run floor good, good rebounder, blocker, can shoot from outside, team player, very coachable, definitely NBA potential..
