The game had a very big importance for fourth-ranked Painters as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Painters defeated one of their biggest challengers FiberXers in Manila 90-84. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of FiberXers. It was a key game for the top position in the league. 25 personal fouls committed by FiberXers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. fired 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Naturalized Spanish guard Juan Gomez De Liano (184-1999) produced 20 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. FiberXers at the other side keep the third place with three games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Warriors. Zavier Lucero had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners. At the losing side Javee Mocon responded with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Hotshots moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated NLEX RW. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Rest of the games of round 10 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Hotshots were defeated by FiberXers in Makati 114-97. Bottom-ranked Terrafirma Dyip was beaten by Titan UGR at home 108-111. Phoenix won against Blackwater on the opponent's court 106-98.



FiberXers - Hotshots 114-97

There was no surprise in Makati where 6th ranked Hotshots (6-3) were defeated by third ranked FiberXers (6-3) 114-97 on Friday. FiberXers made 24-of-29 free shots (82.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Naturalized Spanish guard Juan Gomez De Liano (184-1999) scored 27 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Justine Baltazar chipped in 19 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side responded with 31 points and 9 rebounds and Jerom Lastimosa scored 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. FiberXers have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 6-3 record behind leader Rain or Shine, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Hotshots. Terrafirma Dyip - Titan UGR 108-111

No shocking result in a game in Makati City where tenth ranked Titan UGR (3-6) edged bottom-ranked Terrafirma Dyip (1-7) 111-108 on Saturday. Titan UGR dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Terrafirma Dyip's 42. Titan UGR forced 22 Terrafirma Dyip turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Calvin Abueva had a double-double by scoring 20 points, 15 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and Fran Yu chipped in 15 points and 11 assists during the contest. At the losing side swingman Aljon Mariano (190-1992) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and Jerrick Ahanmisi scored 20 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Titan UGR moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Phoenix. Terrafirma Dyip lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with seven games lost. They share it with Blackwater. Titan UGR will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Terrafirma Dyip will play against Ginebra Kings (#7) and hope to win that game.

Rather expected game in Caloocan City where 11th ranked Bossing (1-7) was defeated by ninth ranked Masters (3-6) 106-98 on Saturday. Phoenix made 24-of-29 free shots (82.8 percent) during the game. Phoenix outrebounded Blackwater 53-36 including a 41-30 advantage in defensive rebounds. Naturalized American forward Jason Perkins (193-1992, college: VCSU) scored 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Ricci Rivero (185-1998) chipped in 25 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American guard Sedrick Barefield (188-1996, college: Utah) responded with 25 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Canadian forward Christian David (198-1998, college: Butler) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Four Blackwater players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Phoenix moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Titan UGR. Blackwater lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with seven games lost. They share it with Terrafirma Dyip. Phoenix will meet at home Meralco Bolts (#10) in the next round. Blackwater will play against Ginebra Kings in Manila and hope to win that game.
