The game had a very big importance for second-ranked TNT Tropang as it allowed them to take a leadership position. TNT Tropang defeated 11th ranked Terrafirma Dyip in Makati 109-95. TNT Tropang outrebounded Terrafirma Dyip 59-40 including a 20-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. TNT Tropang looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when TNT Tropang made 8 blocks. Forward Kelly Williams (201-1982, college: Oakland) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds. contributed with 21 points and 4 assists for the winners. replied with 26 points and 8 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for Terrafirma Dyip. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. TNT Tropang have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Terrafirma Dyip lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom place with five games lost. They share the position with Blackwater and Phoenix. Terrafirma Dyip will play next round against Phoenix trying to get back on the winning streak. Fifth ranked Beermen (4-2) saved a 2-point victory at home edging one of their biggest challengers Hotshots (4-2) 94-92 in the game for the fourth place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hotshots. Worth to mention a great performance of who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and June Mar Fajardo who added 18 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Forward Kelly Williams (201-1982, college: Oakland) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Beermen have a solid four-game winning streak. SM Beermen moved-up to fourth place, which they share with FiberXers and Hotshots. SM Beermen will play against Titan UGR (#8) in Pasig City in the next round. Hotshots will play at home against Blackwater (#10) and hope to get back on the winning track.
An interesting game for Warriors (5-2) which hosted in Makati City second-ranked Painters (5-2). Third ranked Warriors managed to get a 14-point victory 105-91. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Painters. The winners were led by Robert Bolick who scored that evening 28 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Even 26 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists by Jhonard Clarito did not help to save the game for Rain or Shine. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. NLEX RW moved-up to second place, which they share with Rain or Shine. NLEX RW will meet at home Titan UGR (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Rain or Shine will play against the league's leader TNT Tropang (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 8 FiberXers beat Blackwater on the road 99-94.

Important game to mention about took place in Manila. Fifth ranked Beermen (4-2) saved a 2-point victory at home edging one of their biggest challengers Hotshots (4-2) 94-92 in the game for the fourth place. No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked FiberXers (4-2) beat 10th ranked Bossing (1-5) in Caloocan City 99-94 on Saturday. FiberXers had a 36-25 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The winners were led by Justine Baltazar who had that evening a double-double by scoring 11 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists and Alec Stockton supported him with 28 points. Even 33 points (!!!) and 5 assists by American guard Sedrick Barefield (188-1996, college: Utah) did not help to save the game for Blackwater. Naturalized Italian guard Dalph Panopio (185-2000, college: CSUB, agency: Schafer Sports) added 11 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. FiberXers moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Hotshots and SM Beermen. Blackwater lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with five games lost. They share it with Terrafirma Dyip and Phoenix. FiberXers will meet Ginebra Kings (#7) in the next round. Blackwater will play against Hotshots in Pasig City and hope to win that game.
