Ginebra Kings - Phoenix 109-89 The game with biggest result difference took place in Manila. Local Ginebra Kings (6-2) outscored 8th ranked Phoenix (4-6) 109-89 on Friday night. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Phoenix. Ginebra Kings made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Phoenix 60-44 including a 49-37 advantage in defensive rebounds. Ginebra Kings looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. The best player for the winners was naturalized German forward Christian Standhardinger (206-1989, college: Hawaii) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). American forward Justin Brownlee (197-1988, college: St.John's) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Brownlee is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Ginebra Kings players scored in double figures. American forward DuVaughn Maxwell (201-1991, college: Hampton) produced 22 points and 7 rebounds and Javee Mocon (193-1995) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ginebra Kings have a solid three-game winning streak. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Hotshots dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Terrafirma Dyip's 52. They outrebounded Terrafirma Dyip 61-43 including a 24-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. Hotshots looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. 29 personal fouls committed by Terrafirma Dyip helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Naturalized American forward Calvin Abueva (190-1988) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists. American swingman Jordan Williams (198-1992, college: N.Texas) produced 45 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Juan Tiongson (178-1991) added 19 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hotshots moved-up to fifth place. Terrafirma Dyip lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with eight games lost. Hotshots are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Blackwater Elite (#12) in Caloocan City in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
