The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Beirut: Al Riyadi (#1) and Club Beirut (#4). Al Riyadi (14-1) crushed visiting Club Beirut (9-6) by 18 points 77-59. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Club Beirut. Al Riyadi forced 19 Club Beirut turnovers. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was swingman Quionche Carter (183, college: FGCU) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Forward Angela Tompkins (188-1991, college: Wichita St.) chipped in 18 points and 12 rebounds. Al Riyadi's coach Hebatalla Hassanein used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was center Imani McGee-Stafford (201-1994, college: Texas) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks. Leader Azour delivered the thirteenth victory. This time they crushed 6th ranked Champs (6-10) 81-47. It was a good game for the former international point guard Amar Mansour (178-2004) who led her team to a victory with a triple-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists. Aida Bakhos contributed with 17 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Canadian guard Janika Griffith-Wallace (173-1998, college: VCU) answered with 13 points and 7 rebounds for Champs. Azour have a solid series of four victories in a row. Despite that victory Azour went down to third position due to points difference. Champs at the other side keep the sixth place with ten games lost.
Bottom-ranked Hoops (0-16) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 73-70 loss to eighth ranked Almtayleb (4-11) in on Tuesday evening. It was a great evening for Jemimah Ashby who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 14 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocks. Almtayleb's coach Nelly Nassar allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Milena Marjanovic with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 18 rebounds. Almtayleb have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain eighth place with 4-11 record. Loser Hoops still closes the standings.
