LBL Round 13 of Regular Season

The teams have now bigger motivation at this stage of Regular Season. Every game can be crucial and decide about teams' position at the end of Regular Season. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The game in Antonine was quite interesting. 4th placed Antranik (6-6) played at the court of fifth ranked Antonine (7-5). Antonine managed to secure a 8-point victory 86-78 on Tuesday. Antonine looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American forward Michael Watkins (206-1995, college: Penn State) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 16 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import guard Kevin Murphy (197-1990, college: Tenn Tech, agency: The Crew A.M.) chipped in 29 points and 5 assists. Antonine's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American point guard Saeed Nelson (188-1998, college: American) responded with 17 points and 9 assists. Antonine have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place. Antranik lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. They share it with Homentmen and Hoops. Antonine are looking forward to face league's leader Beirut Club on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Antranik will have a break next round.
The game in Mayrouba was also worth to mention about. Seventh ranked Homentmen (6-6) played at the court of 8th ranked Mayrouba (4-8). Homentmen managed to secure a 9-point victory 104-95. New Zealand-Kenyan center Yuat Alok (211-1997, college: NM State) nailed a double-double by scoring 27 points, 16 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winning side and Tyler Bey accounted for 19 points and 17 rebounds. American power forward James Padgett (203-1991, college: Maryland) came up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds for Mayrouba in the defeat. Mayrouba's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Homentmen moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Hoops and Antranik. Mayrouba lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with eight games lost. They share it with Maristes and Al Markaziyyah. Homentmen will play against bottom-ranked NSA (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mayrouba will play against Tadamon (#11) in Hrajel and hopes to get back on the winning track.
11th ranked Tadamon (2-10) was outscored at home by second ranked Al Riyadi (11-1) with the biggest margin this round 110-78 on Wednesday night. Wael Arakji fired 21 points and 4 assists for the winners. George Daaboul produced a double-double by scoring 20 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Al Riyadi. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Beirut Club. Newly promoted Tadamon keeps the eleventh place with ten games lost. Al Riyadi will meet at home Al Markaziyyah (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Tadamon will play against Mayrouba and hope to secure a win.

In the last game of round 13 Sagesse destroyed Al Markaziyyah on the opponent's court 93-66.

Very expected game in Jounieh where 9th ranked Al Markaziyyah (4-8) was crushed by third ranked Sagesse (10-2) 93-66 on Wednesday. Sagesse outrebounded Al Markaziyyah 54-37 including a 37-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Sagesse looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Al Markaziyyah's players. Haitian center Cady Lalanne (208-1992, college: UMass) fired a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners. American Shabazz Muhammad (198-1992, college: UCLA) chipped in a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. American forward Tyree Corbett (201-2000, college: Denver) produced a double-double by scoring 30 points and 19 rebounds and the other American import guard Cameron Young (195-1996, college: Quinnipiac, agency: Slash Sports) added 17 points respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Sagesse maintains third place with 10-2 record behind leader Beirut Club. Al Markaziyyah lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the eighth position with eight games lost.
