Hoops wins Sharjah friendly basketball tournament- September 15, 2024Hoops team, representing Lebanon, managed to win the Sharjah Friendly Basketball Championship title after beating the UAE club, Sharjah, by 9 points, with a score of 69-60, in the final match that took place today, Tuesday. Hieronymus Anconius was the best scorer for Hoops with 20 points, 15 rebounds and 2 assists, while the Lebanese team, Elio Bassil, topped the list with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 1 assist, while Ronald Jackson Jr. (203-F-1997, college: NC A&T, agency: BIG) from Sharjah, UAE, excelled by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists.
On another note, the draw for the 36th Arab Clubs Championship placed Beirut First, the title holder, in Group 3, alongside Al-Bataeh from the United Arab Emirates, Al-Qadisiyah from Kuwait and Al-Seeb from Oman. While Antonine Baabda, the second representative of Lebanon, will play in the first fiery group alongside the host, Al-Ittihad Alexandria, Al-Wahda of the Emirates, and Salé of Morocco, noting that the Lebanese Al-Maryamiyeen officially announced their withdrawal from the tournament, scheduled between October 1 and 12 in Egypt.
