Al Riyadi signs Angela Tompkins, ex Urla

Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut (WLBL) has signed Angela Tompkins, a 32-year-old American forward who previously played for Urla in the Turkish TKBL. Tompkins had an impressive season, averaging 30.0 points per game, 14.6 rebounds per game, 3.7 assists per game, and 1.1 steals per game in 15 games.

She was named League Player of the Week and has also played for Hapoel Jerusalem in the Israeli league.
She is a highly experienced player, having played in six different countries across four continents: Europe, Latin America, Australia, and North America. In addition to her current team, she has played professionally for the Dolphins and Chargers in Australia, Asbis AEL Limassol and Etha in Cyprus, Panionios, Panathlitikos, and Giannena in Greece, as well as in Israel and Mexico for Rojas.

Her team reached the MVC Tournament Semifinals in 2017, and she was voted Eurobasket.com All-Turkish TKBL Forward of the Year in 2023.

She graduated from Wichita State University in 2018, and this is her sixth season as a professional player.
