Lebanese LBL round 9 best performance: Jimmy Salem (by Hoops Agents)

International Guard Jimmy Salem (190-G-1995) had a great game in the last round for Champville, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 27-year old player had a double-double of 25 points and 13 rebounds, while his team beat Hoops (#12, 1-7) 77-72. Champville maintains the 5th position in Lebanese LBL. Champville is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 4-4 record. In the team's last game Salem had a remarkable 72.7% from 2-point range. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Troy Baxter Jr. (206-PF-1996) of Antranik. Baxter Jr. had a very good evening with 34 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Antranik lost that game 97-116 to league's leader Sagesse (#2, 8-0). This loss caused Antranik to drop to 8th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-5 record. Baxter Jr. is a newcomer at Antranik, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Dontarius James (203-F-1999) of Byblos (#10). James got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for twelve rebounds . He was a key player of Byblos, leading his team to a 90-75 easy win against the higher-ranked Liders (#7, 3-5). Byblos can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-7 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. The season just started for James as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be team's leader.
