Gyokchyan is back at Al Riyadi

Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut (LBL) signed 32-year old international forward Hayk Gyokchyan (203cm-97kg-1990, college: F&M) for upcoming 2022-2023 season. It is actually his comeback to Beirut as he has played here before.

Gyokchyan played last season at Beirut Club (LBL). In 23 games he was league's second best scorer with impressive 20.5ppg and averaged 9.5rpg (#4 in the league), 4.7apg, 1.1spg and 1.2bpg. He helped them to win the league title.

The most of previous (2020-2021) season he spent at Al Riyadi where in 23 LBL games he had 13.6ppg, 6.6rpg, 2.8apg and 1.2spg. Gyokchyan also played for BC Dvin in Armenian League A. But in only one game he did not score anything and had only 1 rebound, 2 assists and 1 block.

He has been a member of Lebanese international program for some years. Gyokchyan has been regularly called to Lebanese senior team since 2020 and previously for U18 National Team in 2008.

He has played previously professionally in Lebanon (Sagesse and Homentmen) and Armenia (Aragats).

Gyokchyan graduated from Franklin & Marshall College in 2013 and it will be his tenth season as a professional player.
He could be described: Multi task player who started in High School playing as Point Guard thanks to his ball handling, then switched to Forward in College. Has a great Basketball IQ, very gifted player that can play both under the basket and from outside thanks to his excellent 3 point range. Versatile, can play positions 1 to 4.
