Atlas - Champville 62-80 The game in Zahle was also quite interesting. Sixth ranked Champville (9-7) played at the court of 8th ranked Atlas (4-12). Champville did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 80-62 on Thursday. Champville dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Atlas' 30. They outrebounded Atlas 47-23 including a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Champville looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Champville made 7 blocks. The winners were led by the former international forward Patrick Bou Abboud (199-1987) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 28 points, 13 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 blocks and the former international swingman Elias Rustom (197-1987) supported him with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Champville players scored in double figures. Even 20 points and 8 rebounds by the former international guard Bassel Harfouch (193-1993, college: Alcorn St.) did not help to save the game for Atlas. Point guard Constantin Kodsi (177-1992) added 9 points and 7 assists for the hosts. Atlas' coach Georges Dagher rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Champville have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place. Atlas lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 12 games lost. Hoops were smashed at home by 19 points 64-83 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Al Riyadi dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Hoops' 26. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Mark Alkhoury (196-1998) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 8 rebounds and the former international swingman Jean Abdel Nour (198-1983) who added 18 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. Four Al Riyadi players scored in double figures. The former international swingman Khalil Aoun (195-1990) responded with 17 points and 8 rebounds and the former international Habib Abdallah scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Al Riyadi (13-2) have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion (13-2) moved-up to second place. Hoops at the other side dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. Hosts were rolled over by Beirut Club (14-2) 96-69. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Sagesse. It was a key game for the top position in the league. They outrebounded Sagesse 34-23 including 25 on the defensive glass. The former international guard Sergio El Darwich (193-1996, college: Maine) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. The former international forward Hayk Gyokchyan (203-1990, college: F&M) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Beirut Club's coach Ahmad Farran felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Marc Khoueiry (185-2001) replied with 18 points and the former international power forward Jad Bitar (204-1988) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Sagesse. Five Beirut Club and four Sagesse players scored in double figures. Beirut Club have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Sagesse at the other side dropped to the third place with three games lost. Antranik forced 19 Anibal turnovers. The winners were led by Jean-Marc Jarrouge who scored that evening 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and guard George Yves-Daaboul (178-1995) supported him with 27 points and 4 assists. Antranik's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even a double-double of 25 points and 10 rebounds by Andre Tannoury (195-2001) did not help to save the game for Anibal. American point guard Hamoudy Turfe (183, college: UM-Dearborn) added 27 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. Four Antranik and five Anibal players scored in double figures. Antranik moved-up to sixth place. Anibal lost eighth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost.
