Mohamad Haidar agreed terms with Dynamo

Ali Haidar

Newly promoted Dynamo Lebanon (LBL) strengthened their roster with addition of 31-year old international 203cm power forward Mohamad Haidar (college: Michigan Tech) for season 2021-22. Haidar played most recently at Champville. In two LBL games he recorded 11.5ppg, 7.0rpg and 2.0apg last season. He also played for Al-Hashd in Iraqi Superleague where in 18 games he averaged impressive 20.6ppg, 9.1rpg, 2.9apg and 1.1bpg. Haidar helped them to make it to the semifinals. Great season indeed as he was awarded Asia-Basket.com All-Iraqi League Import Player of the Year and voted to 1st Team and selected to All-Imports Team. He also spent pre-season at Al-Manama (Premier League) in Bahrain league.
Haidar also represented Lebanon at the FIBA Asia Cup in Lebanon four years ago. Haidar's team won Gold and his stats at that event were 7 games: 12.0ppg, 4.6rpg, 1.7apg, 1.1bpg, FGP: 46.8%, 3PT: 25.0%, FT: 63.6%.
He is a very experienced player. Thanks to Haidar's pro career he managed to play on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Africa and of course North America) in six different countries. Haidar has played previously professionally in Canada (Saskatchewan), Jordan (Al Wihdat), Qatar (Al Gharafa), Slovenia (Sencur Gorenjska gradbena druzba Kranj), Lebanon (Al Riyadi and Beirut Club) and Libya (Al Nasr).
Among many awards he won Jordanian League championship title in 2020. He received Asia-Basket.com All-Lebanese League Player of the Year award in 2019.
Haidar attended Michigan Technological University until 2013 and it will be his ninth season in pro basketball.
