Gyokchyan's 29 points and 9 rebounds give him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award- June 20, 2021
He had the game-high 29 points adding nine rebounds and three assists for Al Riyadi in his team's victory, helping them to crush Champville (#4, 11-5) with 23-point margin 94-71. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Al Riyadi to consolidate first place in the Lebanese league. Al Riyadi has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 16-1. In the team's last game Gyokchyan had a remarkable 70.0% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 8 attempts. He just recently signed at Al Riyadi, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Franklin & Marshall College graduate has very impressive stats this year. Gyokchyan is in league's top in rebounds (8th best: 3.3rpg). Second best performed player last round was Christopher Maalouf of Anibal. He is a in his second season at Anibal. In the last game Maalouf recorded impressive 40 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists. Bad luck as Anibal lost that game 82-99 to the higher-ranked Hoops (#6, 9-8). Anibal are still at the very bottom. 17 lost games are too many considering they did not win any game. Maalouf is one of the most experienced players at Anibal and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. Third place about best performers goes to guard Gabriel Salibi (203-G, agency: BIG) of Hoops (#6). Salibi showcased his all-around game by recording 19 points, seven rebounds and eleven assists (!!!) in the last round. He was a key player of Hoops, leading his team to a 99-82 easy win against Anibal (#10, 0-17). Hoops needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 9 victories and 8 lost games. Salibi has a very solid season. In 3 games in Lebanon he scored 13.0ppg.
