Al Shamal welcomes back Arakji

Al Shamal Doha (D1) tabbed 26-year old Lebanese international 194cm guard Wael Arakji for GCC. It is actually his comeback to Doha as he has played here before. Arakji played most recently at US Monastir in Tunisian ProA. In 6 Basketball Africa League games he averaged 14.7ppg, 2.3rpg, 3.2apg and 1.2spg last season. Arakji also played for Al Shamal in Qatari D1 where in 14 games he had very impressive stats: 26.4ppg, 6.0rpg, 5.5apg and 1.7spg. He helped them to make it to the Qatari League final. He can count that season as a very successful as was voted to Asia-Basket.com All-Qatar D1 1st Team, All-Imports Team and League Player of the Week.
He has been also a member of Lebanese international program for some years. Arakji has regularly played for Lebanese senior team since 2015 and previously for U18 National Team between 2011 and 2012.
He also represented Lebanon at the FIBA Asia Champions Cup Winner four years ago. Arakji's team won Gold and his stats at that event were 5 games: 16.4ppg, 4.4rpg, 3.8apg, 2.0spg, FGP: 62.8%, 3PT: 42.9%, FT: 55.6%.
Arakji has played also professionally in China (Royal Fighters), Lebanon (Al Riyadi) and NBA Summer League (Dallas Mavericks). Arakji won Tunisian League championship title in 2021 and the cup in 2021.
