Beirut Club - Champville 69-78 The most important game in the last round took place in Beirut between second ranked Beirut Club (8-5) and fourth ranked Champville (8-4) on Saturday night. Beirut Club was defeated by Champville in a tough game at home 69-78. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Beirut Club. It was a key game for the second position in the league. They outrebounded Beirut Club 44-21 including a 30-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Jad Bitar (204-88, agency: BIG) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. International guard Sergio El Darwich (193-96, college: Maine) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. Four Champville players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Patrick Bou Abboud (199-87) who recorded 16 points and 7 rebounds and the former international Elie Chamoun (193-94, agency: BIG) added 16 points and 5 steals respectively. Champville moved-up to second place. Beirut Club at the other side dropped to the third position with five games lost. This time they crushed 7th ranked Moutahed (5-8) 85-57 in Tripoli. Al Riyadi dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Moutahed's 36. It was a good game for forward Hayk Gyokchyan (203-90, college: F&M, agency: BIG) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Swingman Mark Khoury (196-98) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Four Al Riyadi players scored in double figures. Guard Malek Hijazi (190-94, college: West LA) replied with 19 points and 9 rebounds and Ibrahim Haddad (-98) added 12 points in the effort for Moutahed. Moutahed's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Al Riyadi (12-1) have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain first position. Moutahed at the other side dropped to the eighth place with eight games lost.
