Wael Arakji (ex Al Riyadi) is a newcomer at Al Shamal

Defending champion Al Shamal Doha (D1) strengthened their roster with addition of 25-year old Lebanese international point guard Wael Arakji (194-85kg-94). He started the season at Al Riyadi in the Lebanese LBL league.

Among many awards, Arakji won the Lebanese League championship title in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2019. He received also Asia-Basket.com All-FIBA Asia Champions Cup 1st Team award in 2019.

Arakji has been also a member of the Lebanese international program for some years. He has regularly played for Lebanese senior team since 2015 and previously for U18 National Team between 2011 and 2012.

Arakji also represented Lebanon at the FIBA Asia Champions Cup Winner three years ago. His team won Gold and his stats at that event were 5 games: 16.4ppg, 4.4rpg, 3.8apg, 2.0spg, FGP: 62.8%, 3PT: 42.9%, FT: 55.6%.

Arakji has played previously professionally in China (Royal Fighters) and NBA Summer League (Dallas Mavericks).
