Courtney Fells
Hoops Club (LBL) agreed terms with 32-year old American swingman Courtney Fells (197-93kg-86, college: NC State). He played last season at Quimsa in Argentinian La Liga. In 36 games he had 9.6ppg, 3.9rpg and 1.8apg.
Part of previous (2018) summer Fells spent at Soles (LNB) in Dominican Rep. league where in 9 games he recorded very impressive stats: 17.2ppg, 5.3rpg, 3.6apg and 1.2spg in 2018 season. He helped them to win the regular season and make it to the final. Fells also played for Rafael Barias (TBS) in Dominican Rep. league. In 8 games he averaged remarkable 17.8ppg, 6.4rpg, 1.8apg and 1.9spg in 2018 season.
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2014.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Fells won Balkan League championship title in 2012. He was also voted Eurobasket.com All-Israeli League Newcomer of the Year back in 2011.
Fells is quite experienced player. His career allowed him to visit three different continents, while he played in ten different countries. Fells tasted the life as pro basketball player in Europe, Latin America and of course North America. He has played previously professionally also in Cyprus, Italy, Philippines, Puerto Rico (Atleticos), Turkey (Trabzonspor and Usak Sportlif), Venezuela (Bucaneros), Dominican Republic (Metros de Santiago), Israel (Hapoel Upper Galilee Safed) and NBA G League (Texas Legends and Westchester Knicks).
Fells attended North Carolina State University until 2009 and it will be his eleventh (!!!) season as a professional player.
On Fells:
Courtney is an explosive athlete (vertical leap 41 inches). Courtney is one of the best athletes in the competitive ACC conference full of NBA caliber players. Courtney proved to be one of the better three point shooters in the conference as well. Became the teams go to guy in clutch situations, because of his shooting abilities and ability to create off the dribble. Courtney has become a complete scorer over his time at NC State (scored over 1,000 points for his career). Also one of the conferences top free throw shooters both his junior and senior seasons. Courtney is Great leader on and off the court, great person. Defensively is a LOCK DOWN defender and always called upon to defend the other teams best perimeter offensive player. Courtney has been on the ACC's defensive team honorable mention list the last two seasons. Overall, Courtney has NBA potential and a tremendous amount of upside. Courtney has not come close to reaching his potential. Strong kid that can bench 185 18 times. Finally, Courtney has the ability to compete at the NBA level defensively and offensively. His high basketball IQ and athletic talents make him a high level prospect.
