They overcame Tobol in Kostanay to sweep the championship series. Andrey Endropov scored 16 points to lead Barsy in the decisive game. The top-ranked Barsy built a 4-point lead after ten minutes of action. Tobol bounced back in the second frame. They denied the deficit and grabbed a 39:35 halftime advantage. Barsy however quickly regained the lead. They limited the hosts to just 12 points in the third term to ensure a 3-point buffer with ten minutes remaining. Barsy did not allow Tobol to change the game flow in the final term and rolled to the triumph at the end. Dmitriy Klimov (200-F-88) provided 12 points, while Pavel Ilin (202-F-92) and Edgar Chunda contributed 9 points each in the win. Evgeniy Gorev (192-G-82) replied with 17 points for Tobol. Pavel Mikheev (200-F-83) delivered 13 points and 11 rebounds in the losing effort. They overcame Kaspiy in the decisive fifth game of the consolation final series. Vilius Gabsys (199-F-79, agency: Court Side) stepped up with 22 points and 6 rebounds to lead former champions. The Tigers entered the game after two straight losses in Aktau. The Tigers surged ahead early on. They outgunned Kaspiy 17:14 in the opening frame. The hosts maintained the pressure in the second frame. The home team stretched the gap to as many as 15 points at the interval 41:26. Kaspiy could not pick up the tempo in the third stanza. Astana boosted the margin to 25 points with one quarter remaining. Kaspiy narrowed the deficit in the fourth term but could not seriously threaten the deficit. Aleksandr Kuznetsov (193-G-84) nailed 20 points, while Rustam Yargaliyew (195-F/G-86) had 13 points in the victory. Evgeni Isakov (203-F-82) responded with 15 points for Kaspiy. Gytis Andrijauskas (187-G-86) and Vitali Lopatin (189-G-81) had 14 points apiece in the loss. They narrowly defeated Barsy Atyrau 64:63 in an exciting Final. Rustam Yargaliyew (195-F/G-86) came up with 25 points to lead the Tigers. Barsy got to the better start. They erupted for 21 points in the opening quarter take a 5-point lead. Astana Tigers answered in the second term as they limited the Atyrau team to just 12 points and cut the deficit at just 2-point mark at halftime. Barsy however continued to play their game after the main break. The Atyrau team outgunned the Tigers 20:9 in the third stanza to accumulate a comfortable 13-point lead before the fourth quarter. But the national champions proved the character. Astana burst out with 24 points in the final term and snatched a narrow victory at the end. Dmitriy Gavrilov (203-F-86) netted 11 points for Astana. Anton Lanchakov (202-C-85) produced 9 points in the victory. Mikhail Evstigneev (202-F/C-84) and Mikhail Dyatlovskiy notched 12 points each for Barsy. Klimov finished with 11 points in the loss. Tobol Kostanay clinched the third position in the Cup. They shot down Kaspiy 73:53 in the consolation final. Pavel Mikheev (200-F-83) delivered 19 points for the winners. |
