Astana Tigers clinch the Title - Apr 8, 2010

Astana Tigers clinch the Title in the country as they swept the Final series over Tobol. In Game 2 the favorites grabbed 74:62 win to triumph in Kazakhstan. Tobol opened the game with 18-16 lead, but the Tigers bounced back with 19-13 in the second period. Astana team won also the third quarter 19-9, while Tobol won the last period 22-20. Anton Ponomarev (209-C/F-88, agency: Court Side) top-scored for the winners with 15 points, while Vsevolod Fadeykin (205-C-85) nailed 13. Isakov and Tyutyunnik added 12 points each in a win.
In the game for the third place Barsy overcame Kaspiy in two games. At first they produced 74:56 victory and then triumphed with 87:67 win. Evtinev top-scored for the winners 16 points, while Sayapin added 12. Malishev collected 19 points and 10 rebounds in the losing effort.
Anton Ponomarev became the best Power Forward in the country. Vsevolod Fadeykin grabbed the best Center position. Muravyev from Barsy took best Shooting Guard award. Timur Sultanov (176-G-81) was name the best Point Guard, while Yaya Adamou (198-G-82) took the best Small Forward award.

Aktau enjoyed All Star Game - Mar 13, 2010

Aktau enjoyed All Star Game that became the first one and historical in the country. East won the game over West 126:125 in the real thriller of the court. East led 62:61 at the halftime and managed to keep 1-point deficit. Vsevolod Fadeykin (205-C-85) became the MVP of the All Star Game. Andrei Malyshev (208-C-85) won Slam Dunk Contest with phenomenon dunks. Azim Yagodkin (184-G-92) became the winner of the Three-Pointer Contest. It was such great event and will definitely continue each year in the country.
