They outrebounded Excellence 43-30 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. 32 personal fouls committed by Excellence helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American Yoeli Childs (203-1998, college: BYU) had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Shuto Terazono (172-1994) chipped in 19 points and 7 assists (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!) during the contest. American guard Tray Boyd III (193-1998, college: ETSU) responded with 38 points (!!!) and 6 assists and British forward Benjamin Lawson (216-1995, college: WKU) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks. Five Storks and four Excellence players scored in double figures. Excellence's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.

Firebonds were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American center Wayne Marshall (211-1986, college: Temple) notched 22 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import Mike Daum (206-1995, college: S.Dakota St.) supported him with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Brave Warriors players scored in double figures. Even 20 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals by American swingman Kenny Manigault (195-1991, college: Pikeville) did not help to save the game for Firebonds. Egyptian-American center Patrick Gardner (211-1999, college: Marist) added 15 points and 8 assists for the guests. Firebonds' coach tested twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game.
