35-year old Venezuelan center Gregory Echenique (208-C-1990, agency: Pensack Sports) had a very impressive game in the last round for Kumamoto Volters and receives a Hoops Agents B2 League Player of the Week award for round 60.
He had a double-double of 35 points and 16 rebounds, while his team lost the game against Kagoshima (#4, 27-32) 94-102. Volters maintains the 3rd position in their group in the Japanese B2 League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Kumamoto V. will need to avoid more loses keep or improve their 36-24 record. It's Echenique's second year at Volters and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Gregory Echenique averages this season 12.3ppg and 6.5rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Yoeli Childs (203-PF-1998) of top-ranked Kobe Storks. He is American forward in his first season at Kobe S.. In the last game Childs recorded an impressive double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds. Of course he led Storks to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Yamagata (#6, 15-45) 108-66. Of course Kobe S. still keep West's top spot. His team belongs to top of the standings with 55-5 record and is considered one of the main candidates for the league title. Childs is a newcomer at Kobe S. and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.3ppg (#3). His other stats are also decent: 11.6rpg and 3.3apg.

Third place about best performers goes to Jack Nunge (213-C/F-1999) of league's second-best Fukushima Firebonds. Nunge got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. He went also for twelve rebounds and four assists. Despite Nunge's great performance the Firebonds lost 100-112 to #3 ranked Yokohama EX. But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Fukushima needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams in the East. Their record is 42 victories and 18 lost games. Nunge has a great season in Japan. After 59 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.1rpg (5th best).
