Experienced Nigerian-American Jahlil Okafor (211-C-1995) put on an amazing game in the last round for Levanga Hokkaido Sapporo and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 47.
The 30-year old center had a double-double of 22 points and 12 rebounds, while his team edged out Ibaraki R. (#11, 14-33) 88-85. Sapporo is placed at 4th position in Japanese B1 League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Hokkaido L. will need more victories to improve their 31-16 record. Okafor turned to be Sapporo's top player in his first season with the team. Jahlil Okafor averages this season 15.6ppg and 8.0rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American forward Jake Layman (206-F-1994) of SeaHorses Mikawa. Layman impressed basketball fans with 31 points and 8 rebounds. Of course he led SeaHorses to another comfortable win 89-75 over slightly higher-ranked Chiba Jets (#2, 32-15) being unquestionably team leader. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in West. Sea Horses M. consolidated its place in top 3 of the standings. His team's 33-14 record is not bad at all. Layman is one of the most experienced players at Sea Horses M. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was American David Nwaba (195-G/F-1993) of San-en NeoPhoenix (#5). Nwaba scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. He was a key player of NeoPhoenix, leading his team to a 91-88 win against slightly lower-ranked Hiroshima D. (#6, 27-20). San-en NP needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in West. Their record at this point is 28 victories and 19 lost games. Nwaba has a great season in Japan. After 43 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.7ppg (6th best). He also has 2.1spg, 1.1bpg and a FGP of 62.0%. Nwaba attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
