Jamaican Center Kofi Cockburn (213-C-1999) had an amazing evening in the last round for Hiroshima Dragonflies, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 6.
The 26-year old player was the main contributor (32 points, eight rebounds and three assists) to his team's victory, helping them to crush Saga B. (#8, 3-4) with 22-point margin 114-92. Dragonflies maintains the 3rd position in their group in the Japanese B1 League. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Hiroshima D. will need more victories to improve their 5-2 record. Cockburn turned to be Dragonflies's top player in his first season with the team. Former University of Illinois star has very solid stats this year. Cockburn is in league's top in rebounds (8th best: 9.7rpg) and averages impressive 75.7% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Coty Clarke (201-F-1992, agency: Slash Sports) of Shimane Susanoo Magic. Clarke had a very good evening with a double-double of 27 points and 10 rebounds. Of course he led Magic to another comfortable win 81-66 over the lower-ranked Yokohama BC (#10, 2-5) being unquestionably team leader. This victory allowed Shimane SM to move up to 5th position in East. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 4-3 record is not bad and everything may still change. Clarke is a newcomer at Shimane SM, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Tanner Groves (208-F/C-1999) of Saga Ballooners (#8). Groves scored 28 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Despite Groves' great performance the Ballooners lost 92-114 to the higher-ranked Hiroshima D. (#3, 5-2). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Saga B. ranking at the top of West, however are very questionable as they have already lost 4 games, recording just three victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Groves could help Saga B. to bring them higher in the standings. Groves has a great season in Japan. After only 7 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.0ppg (5th best).
