SeaHorses Mikawa (B1 League) confirmed in their roster 31-year old American forward Jake Layman (206cm-96kg-1994, college: Maryland) for the upcoming 2025-26 season. He has played there for the last two seasons.
In 2016, he was drafted by the Orlando Magic (NBA) in the second round (47th overall). He graduated from the University of Maryland, and it is his tenth season in pro basketball.
Layman was a member of the USA Under 18 National Team in 2012.
He has played professionally in Spain, the NBA (Portland Trail Blazers and Minnesota Timberwolves), and the NBA G League (Windy City Bulls).
His team finished as the runner-up in the regular season in the Japanese B League Central Division in 2024.
