Nagoya Diamond Dolphins (B1 League) signed 32-year-old American 203cm center Alan Williams (college: UCSB) for the upcoming season. He will be playing alongside fellow American player Kyle Richardson. This marks his return to the Dolphins, as he has played for them before. Williams most recently played for Sono Skygunners in the South Korean KBL league, where he had an impressive season averaging 15.8ppg, 11.0rpg (#3 in the league), 3.3apg, and 1.1spg in 30 games. He was recognized with Asia-Basket.com All-South Korean League Honorable Mention and League Player of the Week honors.
Williams has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2016.
He is a very experienced player. Williams has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to six different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Australia and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Australia (Phoenix), China (Eagles and Shaanxi), Korea, Russia (Lokomotiv), NBA (Brooklyn Nets and Phoenix Suns) and NBA G League (NAZ Suns and Long Island Nets).
Williams' team finished as regular season runner-up in the VTB United League in 2021. He was selected to the Australiabasket.com Australian NBL All-Imports Team in 2023.
He graduated from the University of California Santa Barbara in 2015 and it'll be his 11th season in pro basketball.
