B2 League Round 4 (Regular Season): Shizuoka hands first defeat to Kagoshima

Round 4 means everything may happen in B2 League as the season just started. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Undefeated Kagoshima (4-1) recorded its first loss on the court of fourth ranked Shizuoka on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by Shizuoka 81-62. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Kagoshima. They outrebounded Kagoshima 42-22 including a 33-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Shizuoka looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. New Zealand-Irish Finn Delany (200-1995, college: SW Baptist) fired 5 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. American forward John Harrar (205-1999, college: Penn State) chipped in 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Dutch center Matt Haarms (221-1997, college: BYU) produced 15 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shizuoka (3-2) moved-up to third place. Newly promoted Kagoshima still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with Kobe S.. Shizuoka are again looking forward to face league's leader Kagoshima in Renova in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kagoshima will have a break next round.

The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bambitious moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Ehime lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Fukushima recorded a loss to Fukui B. on the road 79-76. Winless Kumamoto V. was defeated by Kobe S. on its own court 81-88.

Ehime OV - Bambitious N. 59-90

Another exciting game was played in Matsuyama between sixth ranked Bambitious and 5th ranked Orange Vikings where Bambitious (2-4) crushed Orange Vikings (1-5) on the road with 31-point difference 90-59. Bambitious dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Orange Vikings' 32. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of Shaquille Hines (201-1993, college: UTRGV) who helped to win the game recording 26 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Woodbury is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Brave Warriors players scored in double figures.
