Nagoya Diamond Dolphins (B1 League) signed 27-year-old American 203cm power forward Luke Maye (college: UNC) for the upcoming season. He last played for Cyberdyne Ibaraki Robots. In 19 B1 League games in Japan, he averaged an impressive 20.9ppg, 10.4rpg, 2.2apg, and 1.0spg last season. Maye also had a pre-season stint at Tofas (BSL) in the Turkish league, where he played 5 games and averaged 11.6ppg, 5.6rpg, and 1.0apg.
He is a very experienced player. Maye has played professionally in Italy (Dolomiti Trentino), Spain (BAXI Manresa and Coviran Granada), Turkey, and the NBA G League (Wisconsin Herd).
He played in the final of Basketball Champions League in 2022 among many awards. He received the All-ACC Most Improved Player of the Year award and the All-ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year award back in 2018 during his college time.
He graduated from the University of North Carolina in 2019, and it will be his sixth season in pro basketball.
