SeaHorses Mikawa (B1 League) re-signed 30-year old American 206cm forward Jake Layman (college: Maryland) for upcoming season. He was a team leader there last season. In 60 B1 League games he averaged impressive 15.2ppg, 5.8rpg, 1.8apg and 1.3spg. He helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in B League Central Division.
For four previous seasons (2019-23) he was tested by the Timberwolves in NBA.
In 2016 he was drafted by Orlando Magic (NBA) in second round (47th overall). The former University of Maryland star is in his ninth season in pro basketball.
Layman was a member of USA Under 18 National Team back in 2012.
He has played previously for two other NBA teams: Portland Trail Blazers and Windy City Bulls.
