Levanga Hokkaido Sapporo (B1 League) confirmed in their roster 28-year old American center Thomas Welsh (213cm-111kg-1996, college: UCLA, agency: Pensack Sports) for season 2024-25. He played there last season. In 33 B1 League games he recorded 11.3ppg, 12.2rpg, 1.4apg and 1.0bpg. The previous (2023) summer he played at Living the Dream in U.S. semi-pro league The Basketball Tournament.
In 2018, he was drafted by the Denver Nuggets (NBA) in the second round (58th overall). He graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles, and it is his seventh season in pro basketball.
Welsh represented the USA at the World Championships U19 in Heraklion (Greece) nine years ago. Welsh's team won Gold, and he averaged almost 3 points per game.
He is quite an experienced player. Thanks to his pro career, he managed to play on three different continents (Europe, Asia, and of course North America) in five different countries. He has played professionally in Belgium (Oostende), Taiwan (Kings), NBA (Charlotte Hornets), and NBA G League (Greensboro Swarm).
