Top ranked Golden Kings (20-9) recorded its ninth loss in Nagoya on Wednesday night. Visitors were edged by fourth ranked Dolphins (17-14) 77-75. It was a great shooting night for Nagoya DD especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Nagoya DD made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was American power forward Scott Eatherton (208-1991, college: Northeastern) who scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. The former international point guard Takumi Saito (172-1995) chipped in 4 points and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Jack Cooley (206-1991, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. Nagoya DD moved-up to third place. Defending champion Ryukyu still keeps top position with nine games lost. They share it with Sea Horses M.. Nagoya DD are looking forward to face league's second-placed Sea Horses M. in Kariya in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ryukyu will play at home against the league's second-placed Tochigi Brex and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Important game to mention about took place in Tokyo. Fourth ranked SunRockers (16-13) saved a 1-point victory at home edging one of their biggest challengers Brave Thunders (17-12) 79-78 in the game for the third place. It was a good game for American Ryan Kelly (211-1991, college: Duke) who saved his team from a defeat with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Josh Hawkinson contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. SunRockers' coach Luka Pavicevic allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Thomas Wimbush (201-1993, college: Fairmont St., agency: Slash Sports) replied with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds for Kawasaki. SunRockers have an impressive six-game winning streak. Sunrockers Sh. moved-up to third place, which they share with Chiba Jets and Saga B. Kawasaki lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with 12 games lost. Sunrockers Sh. will play against Hiroshima D. (#5) on the road in the next round. Kawasaki will play against Sendai 89ers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Jets have a solid three-game winning streak. Chiba Jets maintains third position with 16-13 record having nine points less than leader Ryukyu GK, which they share with Sunrockers Sh. and Saga B. Akita NH lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with 15 games lost. They share the position with Nagasaki. Chiba Jets will meet at home Hokkaido L. (#7) in the next round. Akita NH will play against Nagasaki and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Nagasaki unfortunately lost to Kyoto H. in a home game 75-81. Sea Horses M. managed to beat FE Nagoya on the road 71-58. San-en NP defeated Toyama G. on its own court 95-83. Saga B. smashed Osaka E. in a road game 91-69. Shimane SM won against Hiroshima D. at home 75-66. Yokohama BC managed to outperform Shinshu on the opponent's court 81-71.
The best stats of 30th round was 20 points and 16 rebounds by Rosco Allen of Kawasaki BT.




Alvark Tokyo - Sendai 89ers 92-72

There was no surprise when 5th ranked 89ers (12-17) were crushed on the road by first ranked Alvark Tokyo (25-4) 92-72 on Wednesday. Spanish Sebastian Saiz (205-1994, college: Ole Miss) scored 27 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Brazilian Leonardo Meindl (201-1993) chipped in 15 points during the contest. Four Alvark Tokyo players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American Nathan Boothe (208-1994, college: Toledo) with 20 points and Ukrainian center Volodymyr Gerun (208-1994, college: Portland) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Alvark Tokyo have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 25-4 record, which they share with San-en NP. Sendai 89ers lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 17 games lost.
