Hitachi SunRockers Tokyo-Shibuya (B1 League) signed 28-year old American (has also Kazakhstani passport) point guard Anthony Clemmons (187cm-87kg-1994, college: Iowa) for upcoming 2023-24 season. Clemmons joins another USA player Aki Chambers who is already in the roster.
He played last season at Bursaspor in Turkish BSL league. In 32 games he had 11.0ppg, 2.7rpg, 3.0apg and 1.1spg. He also played 19 games in Eurocup where he recorded 12.1ppg, 2.6rpg, 4.1apg and 1.1spg.
He won Kazakhstan League championship title in 2018 and 2019.
The previous (2021-22) season he played at Hereda San Pablo Burgos in Spanish Liga Endesa. In 5 games he averaged 10.0ppg, 3.2rpg and 3.0apg in that year. The other team he played that season for was Turk Telekom (BSL). In 20 games he got 12.9ppg, 3.2rpg, 3.1apg and 2.1spg in that year. He also played 14 games in Eurocup where he got 12.1ppg, 3.4rpg, 3.5apg and 1.4spg in that year. Another team he played shortly was Dinamo BDS Sassari in Italian Serie A. The team played in three different competitions (!!!) that year, and he was exposed to basketball on different levels. In 6 Italian Serie A games he got 10.2ppg, 2.8rpg and 2.5apg in that year. He also played 3 games in Basketball Champions League where he got 12.3ppg, 1.7rpg, 4.0apg and 2.3spg in that year. Clemmons has been regularly called to Kazakhstan Senior National Team since 2019.
He is quite experienced player. Clemmons has played in four different countries on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Austria (BC Vienna), Bosnia (Igokea), France (Monaco) and Kazakhstan (Astana).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Adriatic League Honorable Mention in 2021.
Clemmons graduated from University of Iowa in 2016 and it will be his eighth season as a professional player. He won Kazakhstan League championship title in 2018 and 2019.
