B3 League Round 30: Winless Kanazawa lose another game

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Bottom-ranked Kanazawa (0-27) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 27th consecutive match to fourth ranked Iwate (19-10) 93-80 on Saturday evening. 25 personal fouls committed by Kanazawa helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American Kyle Richardson (200-91, college: Portland St.) scored 36 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Eric McArthur Jr (192-96) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Serbian forward Dusan Vicentic (204-97, college: WVWC) with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Iwate have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 19-10 record. Kanazawa at the other side still closes the standings. Iwate will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kanazawa will play again at home against Iwate (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
The game in Aichi was also worth to mention about. Seventh ranked Okayama (16-7) played at the court of 8th ranked Aisin AW (13-12). Okayama managed to secure a 6-point victory 80-74. American forward Chris Olivier (202-92, college: OK State, agency: Octagon Europe) notched 21 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and Yusuke Mukai supported him with 17 points. Even a double-double of 17 points and 18 rebounds by American Marcus Dove (206-85, college: OK State) did not help to save the game for Aisin AW. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Okayama moved-up to sixth place. Aisin AW lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with 12 games lost. Okayama will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Aisin AW will play again at home against Okayama (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.

In the last two games of round 30 Yokohama EX lost to Gifu on the opponent's court 63-73. Toyoda unfortunately lost to Yamaguchi in a home game 93-104.



Aisin AW - Okayama 74-80

The game in Aichi was also worth to mention about. Seventh ranked Okayama (16-7) played at the court of 8th ranked Aisin AW (13-12). Okayama managed to secure a 6-point victory 80-74. Okayama made 24-of-29 charity shots (82.8 percent) during the game. Aisin AW was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Chris Olivier (202-92, college: OK State, agency: Octagon Europe) notched 21 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Yusuke Mukai (194-81) supported him with 17 points. Even a double-double of 17 points and 18 rebounds by American Marcus Dove (206-85, college: OK State) did not help to save the game for Aisin AW. His fellow American import forward Jordan Faison (201-94, college: CPP) added 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Aisin AW players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Okayama moved-up to sixth place. Aisin AW lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with 12 games lost. Okayama will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Aisin AW will play again at home against Okayama (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Gifu - Yokohama EX 73-63

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Gifu and 11th ranked Yokohama EX had identical 10-18 record. This time Gifu used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Tokyo 73-63. Gifu outrebounded Yokohama EX 46-34 including 32 on the defensive glass. American forward Alex Floresca (203-96, college: San Diego) notched a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import center Jayce Johnson (213-97, college: Marquette) supported him with 14 points and 17 rebounds. Even 18 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) by power forward Hironori Higuchi (191-90) did not help to save the game for Yokohama EX. Point guard Dan Taguchi (171-97) added 6 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Gifu maintains tenth position with 11-18 record. Yokohama EX at the other side keeps the eleventh place with 19 games lost. Gifu will again play against Yokohama EX (#11) in Tokyo in the next round. Yokohama EX will have a break next round.

The game between closely ranked teams ended with twelfth ranked Yamaguchi's (9-20) road victory over 13th ranked Toyoda (6-21) 104-93. Yamaguchi players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Forward Robert Sampson (203-92, college: Georgia Tech) notched a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 blocks to lead the effort and center Nicholas Evans (210-88, college: S.Indiana) supported him with 28 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Sampson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Yamaguchi players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 46 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 6 assists by power forward Jalen Billups (200-92, college: NKU, agency: BIG) did not help to save the game for Toyoda. Center Joe Wolfinger (214-85, college: Citadel) added 21 points and 18 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Yamaguchi maintains twelfth position with 9-20 record. Toyoda lost third consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth place with 21 games lost. Yamaguchi will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Toyoda will play again at home against Yamaguchi (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
