American Anthony Gaines Jr. (195-G/F-93) put on an amazing game in the last round for Kagoshima and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents B3 League Player of the Week award for round 22.
The 28-year old swingman had the game-high 37 points adding seven rebounds and two assists for Kagoshima in his team's victory, helping them to beat Saitama (#7, 13-9) 103-92. Kagoshima maintains the 3rd position in Japanese B3 League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Kagoshima will need more victories to improve their 17-5 record. In the team's last game Gaines Jr. had a remarkable 57.1% from 2-point range and got six three-pointers out of 9 attempts. He turned to be Kagoshima's top player in his first season with the team. Louisiana Christian University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Gaines Jr. is in league's top in points (4th best: 22.4ppg) and averages solid 2.7spg and 60.6% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 36-year old American power forward Marcus Dove (206-PF-85) of Aisin AW. Dove impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 25 points and 13 rebounds. Of course he led Aisin AW to another comfortable win outscoring Kanazawa (#15, 0-22) 94-70. This victory allowed Aisin AW to move up to 8th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 13-9 record is not bad and everything may still change. Dove is a newcomer at Aisin AW and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was another Kagoshima's star - American Christian Cunningham (201-F-97). Cunningham scored 23 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). He was another key player of Kagoshima, helping his team with a 103-92 win against the lower-ranked Saitama (#7, 13-9). Kagoshima needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 17 victories and 5 lost games. Cunningham has a very solid season. In 22 games in Japan he scored 16.3ppg. He also has 8.7rpg, 1.4bpg and FGP: 67.4%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Chris Olivier (202-F-92) of Okayama - 29 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Mamadou Gueye (201-F-93) of Yokohama EX - 33 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Ryan Watkins (206-C/F-91) of Saitama - 26 points and 13 rebounds
7. Nigel Spikes (208-C-89) of Aisin AW - 21 points and 13 rebounds
8. Jayce Johnson (213-C-97) of Gifu - 17 points and 19 rebounds
9. Nicholas Evans (210-C-88) of Yamaguchi - 25 points and 11 rebounds
10. Bamba Diouf (198-F-93) of Tokyo HT - 23 points and 7 rebounds

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
