30-year old power forward Ovie Soko (201-PF-91) had a very impressive game in the last round for second-ranked Shiga L-Stars and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
He had a double-double of 26 points and 14 rebounds, while his team edged out Kyoto H. (#8, 2-4) 84-83. Shiga L-Stars maintains the 2nd position in their group in Japanese league. They are still close to the very top. Shiga L-Stars would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 5-1 record. Soko turned to be Shiga L-Stars' top player in his first season with the team. University of Duquesne graduate has very impressive stats this year. Soko is in league's top in points (7th best: 20.2ppg) and rebounds (5th best: 10.2rpg).

Second best performed player last round was Tatsuya Suzuki (169-PG-91) of Kyoto H.. He is a guard in his first season at Kyoto H.. In the last game Suzuki recorded impressive double-double of 20 points and 16 assists. Bad luck as Kyoto H. was edged by the higher-ranked Shiga L-Stars (#2, 5-1) 84-83. This loss caused Kyoto H. to drop to 8th position in West. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 2-4 record. Suzuki is a newcomer at Kyoto H. and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Isaac Fotu (203-PF-93) of Tochigi Brex (#6). Fotu scored 26 points and grabbed six rebounds. He was a key player of Tochigi Brex, leading his team to a 88-66 easy win against Ibaraki R. (#11, 0-6). Tochigi Brex needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in East. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 3 lost games. Fotu has a very solid season. In 6 games in Japan he scored 13.3ppg. He also has 6.5rpg and FGP: 58.9%.
