Gunma Crane Thunders (B2 League) strengthened their roster with addition of 29-year old American guard Trey McKinney-Jones (198-100kg-90, college: Miami, FL). He played most recently at Telekom Bsk in German BBL league. In 16 Basketball Champions League games he recorded 8.6ppg, 2.7rpg and 1.4apg last season. McKinney-Jones also played 17 games in BBL where he averaged 7.9ppg, 2.6rpg and 1.2apg.
The previous (2019) summer he played at Fort Wayne Champs in U.S. semi-pro league The Basketball Tournament.
McKinney-Jones has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2015. He was a member of USA Senior National Team two years ago.
McKinney-Jones is a very experienced player. Thanks to his pro career he managed to play on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America) in six different countries. McKinney-Jones has played previously professionally in France (Gravelines Dunkerque), Hungary (Kormend), Israel (Maccabi Kiryat Gat), NBA (Milwaukee Bucks, San Antonio Spurs and Indiana Pacers), Japan (Chiba Jets) and NBA G League (Fort Wayne Mad Ants).
Among many awards he won NBA G League Central Division championship title in 2018. McKinney-Jones received also Eurobasket.com All-Hungarian League Honorable Mention award back in 2016.
He attended University of Miami until 2013 and it will be his eighth season in pro basketball.
