Koshigaya Alphas (B2 League) signed 32-year old American power forward Craig Brackins (208-104kg-87, college: Iowa State, agency: SDJ Sports). He will still stay in Japan where he played last season at Shiga L-Stars (B1 League), but left the team in Feb.'20. In 19 games he had 14.2ppg, 8.3rpg and 4.1apg. B2 League will be definitely a better match and he can see more playing time.
The previous (18-19) season Brackins played at Diamond Dolphins (also in B1 League). In 35 games he recorded very impressive stats: 16.1ppg, 7.8rpg and 2.7apg. He helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in B League West Division.
In 2010 Brackins was drafted by Oklahoma City Thunder (NBA) in first round (21st overall). The former Iowa State staris in his eleventh (!!!) season in pro basketball.
Brackins is quite experienced player. He has played in eight different countries on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America). Brackins has played previously professionally in China, Israel (Maccabi Ashdod), Italy, Poland (Stelmet Enea BC), Turkey (Eskisehir Basket), NBA (Philadelphia 76ers), D-League (Springfield A.) and NBA G League (Maine Red Claws).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he was voted Asia-Basket.com All-Chinese NBL Honorable Mention back in 2016.
He could be described: (by Jonathan Wasserman for NBADraft.net in 2010)
A long, versatile and athletic big man, Brackins is an excellent offensive player who can score in a variety of ways ... He has very solid footwork in the post, which allows him to create separation, and with his length and feel for the game he finds ways to knock down shots in different fashion.
Too often he settles for fadeaway shots instead of using his superior size, strength and talent to overpower opponents in one on one situations
