Ghaz Al-Shamal keeps Shumpert for another season

Ghaz Al-Shamal (1 League) re-signed 30-year-old American 165cm guard Chelsey Shumpert (college: Union, TN). She played there in 2024

Shumpert is a very experienced player. Thanks to her pro career she managed to play on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Africa and of course North America) in five different countries. She has played professionally in Iceland (Breidablik), Ireland (Glanmire), Syria (Al Thawra), United Kingdom (Wildcats) and Mozambique (Clube Ferroviaro da Maputo).

Shumpert won the Iraqi League championship title in 2024.

She graduated from Union University in 2018 and it'll be her eighth season in pro basketball. Shumpert played also for University of Tennessee at Chattanooga for 4 years.
