Gorgan - Kouchin 88-86 The most exciting game of round 22 in the Superleague took place in Gorgan. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Kouchin (7-4) to first ranked Gorgan (10-1) 88-86 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Kouchin. The former international center Meisam Mirzaei (210-92) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points and 17 rebounds for the winners. Arash Sabeti scored 28 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Mohammad Seyyedi chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. American guard Isaiah Williams (188-95, college: Georgia St., agency: BIG) scored 24 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists (made all of his seven free throws) to lead the charge for the winners and Igor Shomakov chipped in 24 points and 6 rebounds during the contest (made all of his eight free throws). Williams is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side the former international swingman Saeid Mohammadi (187-92) responded with 16 points, 5 assists and 4 steals and the former international Reza Ranjbar scored 13 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kerman moved-up to third place, which they share with Sirjan. Naft Abadan lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with nine games lost. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Sajjad Mashayekhi (180-94) who helped to win the game recording 35 points (!!!). The former international Arsalan Kazemi (200-90, college: Oregon, agency: BIG) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Russian guard Anton Ponkrashov (200-86) replied with 19 points and 7 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and the former international swingman Mohammad Shahrian (193-93) added 20 points in the effort for Sirjan. Four Sirjan players scored in double figures. Zob Ahan have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Newly promoted Sirjan dropped to the third position with five games lost.
