Regular Season Round 22: Naft Abadan - Kerman 83-100

There was no surprise when 7th ranked Naft Abadan (3-9) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Kerman (8-5) 100-83 on Monday. Kerman shot 60.3 percent from the field and made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. Kerman outrebounded Naft Abadan 37-23 including a 28-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Isaiah Williams (188-95, college: Georgia St., agency: BIG) scored 24 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists (made all of his seven free throws) to lead the charge for the winners and Igor Shomakov chipped in 24 points and 6 rebounds during the contest (made all of his eight free throws). Williams is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side the former international swingman Saeid Mohammadi (187-92) responded with 16 points, 5 assists and 4 steals and the former international Reza Ranjbar scored 13 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kerman moved-up to third place, which they share with Sirjan. Naft Abadan lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with nine games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
