Taiwan clinched the East Asian Games Gold. They overcame hosting China in the championship game tonight. Lin Chih-Chieh (192-G-82) was pivotal with 21 points for the visitors.
China nailed 24 points in the first period to clear off. They gained a 7-point lead after ten minutes of action. The teams traded baskets throughout the second quarter. China accumulated a 40:33 halftime. Taiwan narrowed the deficit in the third term. The visitors poured in 23 points to get within 3 points at the final intermission 59:56. Taiwan unleashed 26 points in the fourth quarter and raced to a narrow win at the end. Davis Quincy (206-F/C-83, agency: Elite Talent Exchange, college: Tulane) had 13 points and 13 boards, while Tseng Wen-Ting (203-F/C-84), Hung Chih-Shan (176-PG-85) and Liu Cheng (192-F-90) added 9 points each for Taiwan. Xirelijiang Muhetaer (G-91) answered with 23 points for China. Zhai Xiaochuan (205-F-93) had 17 points in the losing effort.

South Korea earned the third overall position at the East Asian Games in Tianjin. They overcame Japan in the consolation final today. Lee Jong-Hyun (206-C-94) delivered 24 points and 11 rebounds to pace the winners.
Japan got to a slightly better start to the game. They jumped to a 21:18 lead after the opening quarter. South Korea turned things around in the second period. They spurred ahead and secured a 38:33 halftime advantage. South Korea stayed in control throughout the third term. They accumulated a 61:48 lead at the final break. The Korean team ignited a 20:8 run in the fourth period to seal the victory. Lee Seoung-Hyun (197-F-82) had 14 points, while Choi Jun-Yong (200-SG-94) delivered 10 points in the win. Seiji Ikaruga (185-G-94) responded with 14 points for Japan. Daiki Tanaka (191-F-91) netted 13 points in the loss.
